Rachel Tozer

Rachel is an experienced solicitor specialising in employment work. Rachel's clients typically range from individuals through owner managed businesses, SME's to larger privately owned companies covering a cross section of technology and legal businesses and academic institutions.

Much of Rachel's work involves helping employers avoid the pitfalls of employment law by providing practical, commercial advice.  Rachel's work covers:

  • Corporate support including TUPE advice;
  • Large and small scale redundancies and reorganisations;
  • Managing disabled employees;
  • Disciplinary and grievance procedures;
  • Defending or bringing Employment tribunals claims;
  • Drafting service agreements and contracts of employment;
  • Drafting Staff Handbook and policies;
  • General day to day advice on employment matters.

While Rachel firmly believes that, where possible, prevention is better than cure she is well versed in resolving disputes which eventually arise.  Rachel provides training to boards and managers to guide them through their responsibilities to their employees.  Rachel is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Rachel started her career at Lovell White Durrant as was (now Hogan Lovells) in 1997, where she worked for 7 years before moving to a Reading firm were she was a partner for 10 years and Head of the Employment Team.  She joined JPP in 2015.
